Vegetable Matters began in July 2017, founded by Pete & Amanda Drinkwater on the well-established Drinkwater family farm in Ebrington, Cotswolds. The Drinkwater legacy in growing quality vegetables dates back to 1947, when Doug Drinkwater Sr. returned from WWII and started with just a few acres of sprouts.

The passion for fresh, farm-grown produce endured, leading to the launch of Vegetable Matters, where farm-to-fork values are alive and thriving.

What We Stand For

Farm‑fresh & Sustainable
Most of our vegetables, fruits, and flowers are grown right here on the Drinkwater Farm. When we can’t grow it ourselves, we source from local Cotswolds partners, minimising food miles, plastic packaging, and environmental footprint .

Our on-site café, relaunched with award-winning chef Nick Deverell‑Smith, brings comforting breakfasts, light lunches, homemade cakes and even a Sunday roast, plus wine, beer, and cocktails. Enjoy indoor and outdoor seating with sweeping views of the Cotswold countryside.

R&D Walker Butchers (‘Fresh Meat Matters’)

Since May 2021, we’ve hosted the renowned R&D Walker traditional butcher next door, offering top-tier, locally sourced meats and friendly, expert service.

With ample parking, free Wi‑Fi, and a friendly welcome to walkers, cyclists, horse riders, and dog lovers, there’s something for everyone.
